On the 30th of November, the National Operetta hosted the gala finale of the international festival “Discovering Paderewski”.
The festival began on the 6th of November in Warsaw and took place in three cities: Warsaw, Kyiv, and Lviv.
Composer, virtuoso musician, public figure and diplomat Ignacy Jan Paderewski was born on the terrain of present-day Ukraine, lived near Zhytomyr and Shepetivka, studies in Warsaw. Today, his works are preformed by the best orchestras in the world.
Honoured Artist of Ukraine, conductor of the National Operetta Oksana Madarash says: “When I heard the «Polish Fantasy» by Paderewski for the first time, I fell in love in his music. One feels in it the confidence of a mature artist, music has interesting content, striking harmony. The composer had a close connection with Ukraine, was born here, his family lived here, maybe, this is the reason why one can here a distinct melos of the Carpathians in his works”.
